Quinta de Lemos Dona Louise 2010
The 2010 Dona Louise from Quinta de Lemos is a wonderfully matured, powerful red. It lives from the aromas of dark, pickled fruits, laurel, balsam and fine toasted notes. In addition to its maturity, Dona Louise has kept its freshness and youthfulness. The grape varieties Touriga Nacional (60%), Tinta Roriz and Jaen (20% each) matured for 18 months in French barriques.
It goes well with beef or game stews, such as ox cheek with glazed marjoram carrots and pretzel dumplings.
Emanuel Rosier (Sommelier):
Dona Louise from Dâo is a lighter wine that gives elegance and structure that roll even more finely and gently over the tongue. Tinta Roriz (Aragonez) - Touriga is a Portuguese blend that is responsible for some of the more dynamic, modern red wine styles. The wine offers ripe red berries and cherries with a mix of spices and menthol. Enormous length.
Classic gastronomic wine. This wine calls for a special occasion – as a present maybe?
