Die Adega Cooperativa de Cantahede wurde 1954 gegründet hat heute etwa 500 aktive Mitglieder. Mit einem Ertrag von sechs bis zu acht Millionen Kilogramm geernteter Trauben ist sie der größte Produzent der Beira Atlântico im Nordwesten Portugals. Vielen regionalen Rebsorten wie Baga, Bical oder Maria Gomes hat die Adega in über 20 Ländern der Welt zu internationaler Reputation verholfen. Wobei sie ein erstaunlich breit gefächertes Portfolio präsentiert, das von mehrfach ausgezeichneten Still- über Schaumweinen bis hin zu Weinbränden reicht.
