Alentejo Red Wine Azamor Single Estate 2022
In Tinto Alentejano, Europe joins hands. Here, classic Portuguese grape varieties meet originally French grapes such as Syrah and Alicante Bouschet, which have also been native to the south for over a hundred years. Azamor's base wine - the Estate is located in the north of the region, roughly level with Lisbon - combines seven red grapes. These are fermented separately in steel tanks and then mature for seven months, 20% in French and American oak. July 2025 determined the final blend, which was then bottled the following September. As usual, lots of dark and red fruit, light spice, very round and smooth. A versatile food companion and a perfect bottle for a cozy evening.
