The limestone vineyards of Oís de Bairro have been known as the heartland for white Bairrada wines since the mid-19th century. The Parcela Cândido owes its name to the former family doctor of the Patos, who owned a piece of the Vinha Formal. A full-bodied, extremely creamy Branco full of character is made here from 100% Cercial. Matured for 9 months in fresh 650-litre chestnut barrels and can be stored for up to 20 more years.

The Pato family has been producing wines in Bairrada since the 18th century. Luis Pato pressed his first wine in 1980 and has since become a pioneer in the region and the undisputed master of the Baga grape. Many innovations can be traced back to him: destemming Baga grapes, aging in French oak, planting ungrafted vines, and so on... Today, Luis Pato has 60 hectares of vineyards on sandy and loamy-calcareous soils south and west of Sangalhos. “For us, producing wine is not only a passion, but also a pleasure.”
