Taboadella entrylevel red wine Unoaked from Dão
The Unoaked is Taboadella's entrylevel red wine, that is made from a mix of the producers different grape variaties. Here the focus is on making a fresh version, showing the quality of the grapes unmanipulated. The Unoaked tinto is a mix of 40% Tinta Roriz, 20% Jaen, 20% Tinta Pinheira and 20% Alfrocheiro, from granite soil. Harvest is done by hand, and afterwards the wine goes through fermentation in steel tanks, followed up by 17 months aging.
A very fresh and mineralic demonstration, of how this area can produce medium bodied red wines, that keeps a good fresh acidity, balanced with a fruity and spiced profile. Earthy and forrest notes in the nose, with fresh wild berries. Perfect for stews and grilled meat dishes.

Im Herzen des hügeligen Dão, Portugals ältester abgegrenzter DOC, liegen die Weinberge von Taboadella. Wie archäologische Funde belegen, wurden hier bereits in römischer Zeit Weine gekeltert; seit dem Jahr 1255 ist das Gehöft bei Silvã de Cima aktenkundig. Auf 42 Hektar, extrem granithaltigen Böden und teils hundertjährigen Rebstöcken entstehen heute konzentrierte Rot- und Weißweine aus den klassischen Rebsorten der Region.
