With the “Kamikaze” series, Filipe Cardoso really lets his oenological creativity run wild: His PetNat is made from 100% of the wonderful sparkling grape Arinto, which thrives on the southern sandbanks of the Tagus Delta. Beautifully cloudy, with crisp acidity and a whole basketful of citrus aromas.

In mittlerweile vierter Generation leitet Filipe Cardoso die Quinta do Piloto auf der Halbinsel Setúbal, im Süden Lissabons. Unfern der Kreisstadt Palmela, die der für ihre Castelão-Tintos berühmten DOC den Namen leiht, richtete Filipe das Familienunternehmen 2008 neu aus. Frische und Eleganz sind die Kardinaltugenden dieses Weinmachers, der seine verrückte Seite wiederum mit der hauseigenen Kamikaze-Linie auslebt. Die süßen Moscatels hingegen, Klassiker der Region, wissen durch außerordentliche Finesse zu überzeugen.
