Founded in 1784, Smith Woodhouse belongs now to the Symingtons. An almost forgotten house that is remembered by connoisseurs for its wonderfully matured late bottled vintage ports. The secret behind the depth lies in the bottle ageing. Bottled after the minimum period of four years, the unfiltered wines are left in the cellars for further years until release. The result is a deep, complex and extremely elegant LBV, which continues to age well and is perfect in the tried and tested combination with Stilton cheese.
