2024 Vintage Port from Dow's
Ever since the exceptional year of 2017, port producers along the Douro have been eagerly awaiting the next outstanding vintage. In 2024, the time had finally come—thanks to wonderfully balanced weather conditions—and all the major houses decided to declare the vintage. The lion’s share of Dow’s Vintage Port comes from the flagship estates Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira and Quinta do Bomfim; the private plots of Quinta do Santinho, planted with old vines, also contributed to the final blend. As one would expect from a Dow’s, the 2024 Vintage Port captivates with great depth; spicy cassis notes meet dark chocolate, freshly ground pepper, and striking minerality. With the house’s signature drier finish, it is full of character and has great longevity.

Now in its fifth generation, the British-Portuguese Symington dynasty is one of the few names in the Douro region synonymous with the highest quality port wine. The family banner unites venerable houses such as Dow's, Graham's and Warre's – a heritage that comes with a responsibility. But new paths are also being taken, for example in the joint venture with French Bordeaux legend Bruno Prats, who produces a top-class international wine at Quinta da Roriz with his Chryseia.
