Aguardente

In Portuguese, Aguardente is used to describe distillates - usually with an alcohol content of between 40 and 50 percent by volume - that are distilled from wine (Aguardente Vinica), pomace (Aguardente Bagaceira) or other fruits. The word „aguardente" is composed of „agua" (water) and „ardente" (burning).
