Blandy's Madeira Sweet 5 Years Reserva
Once known as “Alvada,” the wine trade in Madeira began with this 5-year-old blend of Bual and Malmsey grape varieties.
After separate fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the fermentation process is stopped by adding grape brandy, thus defining the desired sugar content.
The Reserva is then aged in American oak barrels using the traditional
Canteiro method and, after several years, is drawn off, clarified, and bottled after blending.
Blandy's 5 Years Old Reserva is chestnut-colored with golden reflections and has aromas of dried fruit, wood, honey, and toffee.
This sweet Madeira is ideal as a digestif and with a wide variety of desserts, but also goes well with hard cheeses.
Once opened, you have several months to enjoy Blandy's Reserva.
