Ricardo Diogo, co-owner and winemaker at Barbeito, harvested the grapes for this colheita around a week before they were fully ripe on vineyards in the north and south of the island. Thanks to the early harvest and the use of a horizontal screw press
, he achieves higher acidity levels in the must. From March 2012, the wines matured in old French oak barrels using the Canteiro method until bottling in April 2024 (2,924 x 0.5 litres).
The wine is well-structured, with a lively acidity and wonderful length.
