Ethos Rufete 2023 Vinho Tinto Beira Interior
A monovarietal Rufete from the Serra da Estrela, from a vineyard over 60 years old, growing on granite soils at an altitude of over 500 metres. In the neighbouring Dão region, this grape variety – which is genetically related to Negra Mole – is also known as Tinta Pinheira. To bring out the extraordinary elegance of this tannic yet light-footed grape to its fullest, Ethos’s Rufete is fermented and matured in steel tanks. A basketful of wild red berries, a hint of forest floor, delicate acidity, and plenty of mineral freshness. Pairs superbly with light meals and is ideal for convivial gatherings.

Am Rande des Nationalparks der Serra da Estrela liegt die Quinta de São Lourenço im von karger Schönheit gezeichneten Mondego-Flusstal. Auf 12 Hektar werden aus über 60 Jahre alten Reben die Ethos Vinhos gekeltert. Und der Name ist bei diesem Projekt Programm: Mit minimaler Intervention im Weinberg und -keller, dazu sehr gering geschwefelt; 2025 ist dann auch die Umstellung auf Organischen Anbau offiziell. Es sind kühl gehaltene Tintos und kernige Weißweine, die uns unmittelbar überzeugt haben und auch im Heimatland schon einige Auszeichnungen abräumten - (noch) ein Geheimtipp!
