Dona Louise 2013 Quinta de Lemos Dão Portugal
A full-bodied cuvée with a long finish, wonderfully matured. Made from three traditional Dão grape varieties: Touriga Nacional (60%), Tinta Roriz and Jaen (20% each). From sandy granite soils from higher altitudes up to 400 metres; aged for 18 months in French barriques. Floral notes, lots of forest floor and round fruit, with a beautiful tannic structure. Certainly storable for many more years.

Quinta de Lemos is tucked away at an altitude of 340 metres on the Beira Alta plateau in the heart of the Dão region, Portugal's oldest wine-growing region. In addition to olive trees and beehives, it comprises 25 hectares of vineyards. A special feature of Portuguese Dão wines is their reliance on native, indigenous grape varieties, which are typically bottled as a blend of at least two of these varieties. Quinta de Lemos also bottles single-varietal wines made from the main grapes of the Dão region. The aim is to produce balanced wines – between tradition and modernity, between technology and nature.
