One of our most popular Reservas for many years; named after the field scorpion found in the vineyards of Quinta da FaÃsca. Made from a blend of vines over 20 years old, which are fermented together and aged for 12 to 15 months in oak barrels. Extremely food-friendly, a versatile accompaniment to meals. Fresh red fruit, a fine tannin structure and a hint of minerality. Will certainly age well for 10 years.

In 2004, Gonçalo Lopes and Rui Cunha embarked on their two-man adventure: craft wines from the Douro Valley. They were able to draw on a wealth of experience in viticulture and oenology, having already advised numerous winegrowers. They chose Quinta da Faísca, built in 1946 near Favaios, as their winery. ‘Our wines must reflect the quality of their origin. Getting to know locations, feeling their potential, uncovering their identity, translating this into infinite sensations. This is how different wines are created.’
