Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa

Vinha Centenária Maria Teresa Quinta do Crasto 2018

The vines of the legendary Vinha Maria Teresa, named after the first granddaughter of the founder of Quinta do Crasto, Constantino de Almeida, are over 100 years old. Around 60 different grape varieties grow here across 4.7 hectares in a traditional mixed planting, including four white varieties and one red variety that, even with the most modern technology, has so far proved impossible to identify genetically. The low yield enhances the quality; the vines are rooted dozens of metres deep in the barren schist soil. The wine of the same name has been produced since 1998 – hand-picked and aged for 20 months in French and American oak, with only the finest barrels selected. A finely defined tannin structure, exceptionally multi-layered and complex. An absolute top-class wine!
