From the legendary, century-old Vinha da Ponte vineyard; alongside Vinha Maria Teresa, this is one of the finest plots at the prestigious Quinta do Crasto. Hand-harvested at altitudes between 190 and 210 metres, and foot-trodden in the lagar. After 20 months’ ageing in new French barriques, fewer than 4,000 bottles were bottled. Highly concentrated and elegant. Berry fruit aromas, accompanied by subtle spice and a hint of cocoa. A top-class Portuguese red in a league of its own, capable of ageing for easily another three decades.
