2024 Touriga Nacional from Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora de Carmo
Portugal’s flagship red grape variety, Touriga Nacional, grown on the slate terraces of the legendary Quinta Nova in the Cima Corgo subregion of the Douro. Hand-harvested, three-quarters of which was aged in used 300-liter French oak barrels, with the remainder aged in concrete tanks. Plenty of fresh forest fruits, the typical violet notes, and orange blossom. Elegant yet full-bodied, with a fine texture. From a nearly perfect 2024 vintage.

Als zur Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts die Weinbauregion Douro - als erste weltweit - ihre heutigen Grenzen verliehen bekam, war die Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo bereits aktenkundig. 1999 erwarb die Korkmagnatenfamilie Amorim das Gut, das als erstes am Douro seine Parzellen rebsortenrein bestellte. Manche Rebstöcke sind über 100 Jahre alt und bringen konzentrierte Weine von großer Eleganz hervor.
