The entry-level red wine from Quinta de La Rosa, made from the holy trinity of Touriga Nacional, Toruiga Franco and a dash of Tinta Roriz (= Tempranillo). Fermented in steel tanks and aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels. In the extremely hot year of 2022, the old vines stopped photosynthesis for several weeks due to heat stress, resulting in a more moderate alcohol content of a relatively modest 13%. Otherwise, as usual, lots of berry notes, some plum, light herbal notes and lots of fresh minerality. Can certainly be stored for 10 to 15 years in a magnum bottle.

Einen Steinwurf flußabwärts von Pinhão, am nördlichen Ufer des Douro, im Herzen der Sub-Region Cima Corgo, liegt die Quinta de La Rosa. Über Jahrzehnte war die britische Inhaberfamilie Bergqvist einer der geachtetsten Traubenlieferanten für die großen Port Shipper, unter anderem für Sandeman. Seit den späten 1980er Jahren füllt man auf der Quinta selbst ab: äußerst elegante, etwas weniger süße Ports, und frische, mineralische Rotweine.
