Barca Velha’s little brother: bottled just 19 times since 1960, most recently in the dream vintage of 2017. From the vineyards of Quinta da Leda and neighbouring high-altitude plots. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged for 18 months in barriques (75% new barrels, the remaining 25% in their second year of use). Exceptionally dense, superb balance, extremely long-lived (best decanted two hours before drinking). Plenty of dark fruit, hints of cocoa, mineral and peppery notes – an absolutely top-class red wine!
