The label already suggests it – Vinha dos Pardais, which translates as “vineyard of the sparrows”. This is because the sparrows near Palmela on the Setúbal Peninsula like to steal a berry or two in late summer. The grapes develop a special fruitiness here and, thanks to the Alicante Bouschet and Castelão varieties, also acquire a delicate spiciness and a subtle balsamic note. Wonderful with barbecued dishes!

Unfern der Kreisstadt Palmela, die der für ihre Castelão-Tintos berühmten DOC den Namen leiht, richtete Filipe das Familienunternehmen 2008 neu aus. Frische und Eleganz sind die Kardinaltugenden dieses Weinmachers, der seine verrückte Seite wiederum mit der hauseigenen Kamikaze-Linie auslebt. Die süßen Moscatels hingegen, Klassiker der Region, wissen durch außerordentliche Finesse zu überzeugen.
