Adega Cooperativa de Cantahede was founded in 1954 and now has around 500 active members. With a yield of six to eight million kilograms of harvested grapes, it is the largest producer in the Beira Atlântico region in north-western Portugal. The Adega has helped many regional grape varieties such as Baga, Bical and Maria Gomes gain international renown in over 20 countries around the world. It offers an astonishingly diverse portfolio, ranging from award-winning still and sparkling wines to brandies.
