Ethos Identidade da Serra Beira Interior Vinhos da Montanha Branco 2023
Identidade Branco is a single parcel white from Ethos, made in their 12 hectares of vineyards in the natural park of Serra da Estrela. The vineyard selected for the Identidade Branco is an older granite parcel with vines that was planted in 1975.
The wine consists of a fieldblend of the 3 varities growing on the parcel, which are Siria, Cereal and Malvasia Fina. The grapes all ferments together in both 500L oak barrels and steel tanks, and afterwards ages in 500L used oak barrels on the lees for 11 months. After ageing the wines rests on the bottle for a year, before its released.
An elegant medium bodied white wine with nice texture, that shows a super balance between body and acidity. Mineral with good creamy texture, malolactic notes and slight notes of biscuit. Full ripe notes of stone fruits, honey melon, floral notes in the undertone. A wine suitable for more fatty fish, white meats and a perfect match for cream based pasta dishes.

Am Rande des Nationalparks der Serra da Estrela liegt die Quinta de São Lourenço im von karger Schönheit gezeichneten Mondego-Flusstal. Auf 12 Hektar werden aus über 60 Jahre alten Reben die Ethos Vinhos gekeltert. Und der Name ist bei diesem Projekt Programm: Mit minimaler Intervention im Weinberg und -keller, dazu sehr gering geschwefelt; 2025 ist dann auch die Umstellung auf Organischen Anbau offiziell. Es sind kühl gehaltene Tintos und kernige Weißweine, die uns unmittelbar überzeugt haben und auch im Heimatland schon einige Auszeichnungen abräumten - (noch) ein Geheimtipp!
