Encruzado is booming! In the slipstream of the more acidic Alvarinho, Encruzado has blossomed into the second top white Portuguese grape in recent years. New vines have already been planted at Taboadella, again at the highest altitudes, at over 500 metres above sea level. Matured partly in used barriques and partly in cement egg and steel tanks, this Branco achieves the perfect balance: some stone fruit, pear and Damascus, plus a fine herbal flavour, a creamy mouthfeel and mineral freshness. An excellent accompaniment to poultry, salads, fish or cheese. More harmony in a white wine is hard to imagine...

Im Herzen des hügeligen Dão, Portugals ältester abgegrenzter DOC, liegen die Weinberge von Taboadella. Wie archäologische Funde belegen, wurden hier bereits in römischer Zeit Weine gekeltert; seit dem Jahr 1255 ist das Gehöft bei Silvã de Cima aktenkundig. Auf 42 Hektar, extrem granithaltigen Böden und teils hundertjährigen Rebstöcken entstehen heute konzentrierte Rot- und Weißweine aus den klassischen Rebsorten der Region.
