Dão Branco 2022 Taboadella Grande Villae Encruzado
Made from Encruzado, the booming premium grape variety from the mountainous Dão region, grown on granite-rich slopes at an altitude of 500 metres. Hand-picked and pressed as whole bunches. 20% fermented and aged in cement tulip vats, the remaining 80% in new French barriques for 10 months. 7,000 bottles were bottled in November 2023. Extremely clear in its aromas, fresh, silky and full-bodied – an outstanding white wine from the heart of Portugal.

Im Herzen des hügeligen Dão, Portugals ältester abgegrenzter DOC, liegen die Weinberge von Taboadella. Wie archäologische Funde belegen, wurden hier bereits in römischer Zeit Weine gekeltert; seit dem Jahr 1255 ist das Gehöft bei Silvã de Cima aktenkundig. Auf 42 Hektar, extrem granithaltigen Böden und teils hundertjährigen Rebstöcken entstehen heute konzentrierte Rot- und Weißweine aus den klassischen Rebsorten der Region.
