2018 Vintage Port Cockburn's Quinta dos Canais
At the upper end of a winding river bend in the Douro Superior lies Cockburn's legendary Quinta dos Canais, where the importance of Touriga Nacional as the leading grape variety for port production was recognized early on. An estimated one-third of the south-facing slopes are now planted with this grape, which, together with its sister variety Touriga Franca, provides the full-bodied berry notes and floral aromas. Added to this is a delicate acidity and a noticeably drier finish in the typical British house style.
