40 years of Douro maturity: Dow's Vintage Port 1985 ‘Private Cellar Release’
The year 1985 is fondly remembered in the Douro region – perfect conditions resulted in outstanding vintage ports. One of the greatest is undoubtedly that from Dow's. Now the Symingtons are bringing it back onto the market: matured for forty years in their own cellars and freshly corked, in a strictly limited edition of just 800 bottles, labelled as a ‘Private Cellar Release’. Made from grapes from Quinta do Bomfim in Cima Corgo and Quinta da Senhora Ribeira in Douro Superior. Dark fruit, subtle chocolate notes, a slightly smoky tobacco note and fine spice. Enjoy within 48 hours after decanting.

PORTUGAL
Now in its fifth generation, the British-Portuguese Symington dynasty is one of the few names in the Douro region synonymous with the highest quality port wine. The family banner unites venerable houses such as Dow's, Graham's and Warre's – a heritage that comes with a responsibility. But new paths are also being taken, for example in the joint venture with French Bordeaux legend Bruno Prats, who produces a top-class international wine at Quinta da Roriz with his Chryseia.
