Quinta do Vesuvio Capela Vintage Port 2011
Following the 2007 vintage, this is the second vintage of Quinta do Vesuvio’s Capela Vintage Port, which the Symingtons produce only in truly exceptional years. For the first time, it includes a small percentage of Alicante Bouschet, which was harvested and fermented together with the Touriga Nacional in September. In October, the Touriga Franca and the Sousão—crucial for the wine’s acidity—followed in the same manner. Dark berry notes, a hint of chocolate, and refined coffee tones. A wonderful tannic structure, yet fresh and ultra-elegant. Between April and May 2013, 2,400 bottles were bottled.

PORTUGAL
Now in its fifth generation, the British-Portuguese Symington dynasty is one of the few names in the Douro region synonymous with the highest quality port wine. The family banner unites venerable houses such as Dow's, Graham's and Warre's – a heritage that comes with a responsibility. But new paths are also being taken, for example in the joint venture with French Bordeaux legend Bruno Prats, who produces a top-class international wine at Quinta da Roriz with his Chryseia.
