Extremely mineral Alvarinho Vinho Verde from Anselmo Mendes in a joint venture with the Symingtons. Handpicked and fermented at low temperatures. Incredibly citric and fresh; when young very slim and with sharp acidity. After some months with notes of tropical fruits and more mouthfilling. Ageing potential of at least 10 years.

In the green north of Portugal, Anselmo Mendes has been studying native grape varieties since the 1980s. The insights he gained into the noble Alvarinho and Loureiro grapes elevated their cultivation to unprecedented levels. A careful balance between tradition and innovation characterises all his projects: in 1998, he pressed his first wine under the name Muros de Melgaço, followed three years later by the launch of the Muros Antigos label and then, in 2009, the laying of the foundation stone for Parcela Única.
